This is a long story you posted, but only two things REALLY need to be known about Canadian health care: a) People who can afford it commonly come to the US for treatment because Canadian health care does not meet their needs. Bingo! You hit the nail right on its head. That's the problem with the American health system: its good only for "People who can afford it". b) The Canadian socialized medicine program has been acknowledged as a failure, even by one of its chief architects. If that isn't evidence of a failed system I don't know what is. Link please.
