According to Robry's data, we surpassed 3,000 bcf in storage earlier this week.

Last year, we stored 950+ bcf between July 25 and November 1. And that was even with over 200 bcf production loss due to Gustav/Ike. Can we really store over 4 tcf?

How much gas are producers going to have to shut-in this fall and how much are spot prices going to crater?

Summary:
Working gas in storage was 2,952 Bcf as of Friday, July 17, 2009, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net increase of 66 Bcf from the previous week. Stocks were 568 Bcf higher than last year at this time and 458 Bcf above the 5-year average of 2,494 Bcf. In the East Region, stocks were 122 Bcf above the 5-year average following net injections of 56 Bcf. Stocks in the Producing Region were 252 Bcf above the 5-year average of 791 Bcf after a net injection of 11 Bcf. Stocks in the West Region were 84 Bcf above the 5-year average after a net drawdown of 1 Bcf. At 2,952 Bcf, total working gas is above the 5-year historical range.

a.m. EDT on Thursday that 73 billion cubic feet of gas were added to
inventories during the week ended July 24, according to the average forecast of
17 analysts and traders surveyed by Dow Jones Newswires.

A Reuters poll on Wednesday showed inventories were
expected to rise 73 bcf when the weekly EIA storage report is
released on Thursday at about 10:30 a.m.
Stocks rose an adjusted 68 bcf for the same week last year,
while the five-year average build for that week is 51 bcf.
