"As to Rice... if there was much to say bad about her by blacks, I didn't hear it or read, but I miss a lot. but I did hear and read a lot bad about her as a black woman, by whites....

That seems about right as I recall.

"...in the sense that there would be expectations of her actions or beliefs by whites because of her color, that could be considered racism, perhaps... not on par with denying a job, or thinking her subhuman... but a form of racism, perhaps."

That is also what I observed.

Racism isn't dead, its still fairly common and it is common in right wing circles too. But this circumstance was very public, public enough that the objections should have been wide spread. It was unusual in that it was spear headed by the left wing. The most vocal of them have been white men who speak of what they have done as liberals for the black community and why the blacks are now obligated to march lock step behind them, and specifically how Rice is a traitor to all that.

I've always thought that this was a remarkable website in general and their analysis of Condi is, umm, riveting.
