the best release is to put the bears in hibernation at the wildlife care center. Then, they make a den and take the bears out while they are sleeping and place them in the den. When the bear wakes up in the spring and comes out, he acts like all the other wild bears.

now that makes a lot of sense. not that I ever met a bear. but if I was a bear... yep

They rescued a baby bear a couple years ago from the fire (that burned my daughter's home down) who had burnt paws and they nursed him back. They had a webcam on him and people across the country started a thread to talk about his recovery. Just this week, they came from all over the country to meet each other and the people at the Wildlife Care Center - kind of like the Piffers used to do meeting in Vegas.
