Excellent commentary, Nadine! Obama said: "“When people see the cost of doing nothing,” Obama said, “they’re going to say, ‘We can make this happen.’”

He had over an hour to make that case, has had months to make that case in specifics, and he has not done so!!! Exactly what are the costs for what group of people? Obama just makes charges, but no proof of the statements he makes.

Smith had several good comments in that article, and this certainly hit home with me...

But instead of shaking the rafters, he spent most of his hour just checking rhetorical boxes, with language so poll-tested and focus-grouped, it was bleached of life.

“The stars are aligned and we need to take advantage of that,” Obama said.

i cannot believe he actually said that....and yet, saying so betrays his opinion that it really is ABOUT HIM....he won...ergo, 'the stars are aligned'

yeah, and there was also a total eclipse of the sun yesterday

The Henry Louis Gates comment was beyond stupid. It brings up the spectre of the race card being used whenever things are not going swimmingly for O!, as they are presently.

The correct thing to say was that he knows nothing about the incident, which is undoubtedly true, that he has faith that the legal system will straighten things out, and that he is not commenting because his comments might improperly influence the legal process.

But no, he has prejudged the incident, made up his mind and proclaimed Gates's innocence during an important event that had nothing to do with race.

It shows how clueless he is without a thoroughly rehearsed script, that his on-his-feet instincts are weak and that his judgment is deeply flawed.

Stick a fork in him for 2012, he's cooked.
