Yes, they are.

Which increases the cost of living for these people, which contributes in some way to a wage/price spiral within the state. With enough of this nonsense, you end up with an absurdly priced real estate market and cost of living, a median income that is higher than most other states, and the end result being that Californians also payer higher federal income taxes than most everyone else for a given standard of living.

Everything cost more in CA than in AL or AR. Why? In significant part due to insane regulation imposed by THEIR STATE.

They do it to themselves. Until they figure out that it is a bad idea to replace thousands of perfectly functioning gas nozzles by taxing CA residents, in effect, about 0.75-1.00 Billion dollars, I just can't have any sympathy for them.
