And vice versa. Most Europeans are appalled at how readily available personal information is available in this country. Or how big a factor money is in being able to retain and assert your rights. Not to mention that we are closing in on the UK on the surveillance society side.

But, I grant you. Having to register with City Hall every time you move, only being able to name your kids with names off the approved list and having money automatically deducted from your check that goes to your church are things that give me the creeps. But I can't say those are worse than the things we put up with.
