I like this part.

It's called supply and demand. Many more people want to live in CA than AL or AR so naturally the cost of living here is higher.

Ultimately, everything comes down to supply and demand.

But your explanation of why supply and demand are out of whack with the rest of the country is not exactly right.

It isn't a coincidence that CA is in such desperate fiscal straights. Yes, it is true that tons of illegals "choose" CA. But could it have anything to do with the way liberals in CA have "chosen" to handle illegal immigration? Of course it does.

Smart people view California as a microcosm of what we can expect if liberalism continues to take over the rest of the country. Higher taxes and increased regulation increasing without bound until the entire nation faces the same sort of fiscal crisis CA now faces.

It is an obvious fact. Liberalism is a blob, sucking up everything it touches until there is nothing left but other blobs.

It isn't rocket science.

CA has more land use controls and limitations which push up real estate prices and thus the cost of living.

While CA has more population than AR and AL, I believe they're losing population now, while AR and AL are probably growing.
