I had a friend who had one of the very few permits to carry a concealed gun in L.A. - he got it while living in the Sierras. He made no effort to hide the fact that he was carrying weapons. He wore a holster around his waist and carried a rifle when we would go to a restaurant. There was only one restaurant that would seat him, after he checked his weapons with the bartender. He was never stopped by the cops.
