There is a reason why some things are not suited to markets -- but it would be a mistake to think that universal health care stands in opposition to markets -- on the contrary there are abundant opportunities to enlist market forces. Doctors don't need to be government employees -- doctors can and should eb free to make their own decisions. Same with patients -- as it is with education. Nobody is forced. The service is there and if you have the money and want to opt out, great, do it. You can do the same with police services if you mean by that protection -- you can hire your own security forces so long as they obey the law.
