Exactly my point Kurt. Nortel is doing well because it is cutting costs and it has to continue to do so.

Now, what do you think that means for companies that sell to Nortel? In short Nortel's increases are Corel's losses, would be an adequate analaysis, if it weren't for the added complications brought on by the quality of Corel's management.

Kurt Petersen, Since there has been some confusion about Nortel...

It is interesting to note that JP Morgan just downgraded Nortel from long-term buy to a buy.

In an Oct. 27 report, JP Morgan says earnings growth will moderate over the near term. "As evidenced by yesterday's third quarter results, revenue and earnings growth rates for Nortel in the second half of 1997 are clearly coming in below the first half of 1997's levels."

This is relevant to Corel because Corel has been touting Nortel as a big potential customer.
