"Colonel Peters said the kid was a collaborator and liar whether or not he was under duress."

Those are the facts Steve. The statements were collaborative and the personal actions he described were lies as verified by the other American military personnel. Those facts don't stand alone. He said he is willing to consider all the facts as they come available and stressed that it is important to withhold judgement until that time.

You are the only person not withholding judgement, you've judged the Colonel to be evil and the boy to be the innocent victim of that evil and you are doing it by ignoring pertinent facts, as usual.

We may find out the private is a true American hero at which time I will be happy for him and will have nothing to apologize for.

We may find out he is a deserter in which case you will have falsely attacked an honorable Colonel and we know you will never apologize for that.
