Since it worked before you did the upgrade, I don't see why it wouldn't work after you restore. But wireless carriers are mysterious entities, and their ways are unknown to me.

The iPhone 3G has a rounded back that is all one color. The original iPhone (Edge) had a flat, mostly aluminum back with a black plastic cover on the bottom 1/4.
