I wrote them. I know what they meant.

That doesn't follow.

Assuming your rational (and I do), it does follow that you know the meaning you meant to convey, but if you choose words that have a different meaning, you might not realize your mistake.

Despite Humpty Dumpty's claims to the contrary words do not mean just what you choose them to mean.

Which I only point out because your claim that I took your statements out of context. Personally I'd rather establish the intended point and talk about it. If the original words where a mistake, best to move on from the mistake rather than dwelling on it. I would address your intended meaning, except I'm not sure there is anything left to say about it. So perhaps its best to just bring this particular branch of conversation to a close.

Minimum Wage Hike Could Threaten Low Earners’ Jobs

breitbart.tv

AP: A federal minimum wage increase that takes effect Friday could prolong the recession, some economists say, by forcing small businesses to lay off the same workers that the pay hike passed in better times was meant to help. The increase to $7.25 means 70 cents more an hour for the lowest-paid workers in the 30 states that have lower minimums or no minimum wage. It also means higher costs for employers who feel they've already trimmed all their operating fat.
