"Return to natural size implication is that companies from small countries will shrink or disappear."

If that is the future shape, we will be losers in the end. We need more competition, not less. Technological innovations, and new ideas are necessary components for companies to survive and thrive, and the smaller companies are in the forefront, with new ideas to sell their products and to stay ahead of the competition. And of course, competition keeps down prices as well. That is how free enterprise is supposed to work, although business is always looking to limit competition.

The trend however is for bigger and bigger international corporations. I know that is your point, and that trend isn't slowing down. What will the future look like if taken to the nth degree? A one world government, and a single corporation controlling everything?

Or will countries resort to trade restrictions to support their industries?
