I saw da_chief's call for a cyclical bull market. Russell has changed the bear on his newsletter to a bull.

But...

What is this based on?

Nothing at all, IMO. Wishful thinking, I suppose, for the fundamentals still are very, very bad.

A re-inflation of stock prices, a new bubble.

A very dangerous thing, I think, for it could pop very suddenly and very painfully.

We will export credit and finance a global bubble among emerging countries not burdened by debt. The American carry trade is on the way. It will assist us in deleveraging and cutting imports, but it will do little to contribute to a sound economy or a real recovery for we have very little to export except entertainment and agricultural products.

I am tempted to participate in the coming stock upcrash but will feel guilty about profiting from froth.
