The advanced care conference I attended with my mother did not include anyone who had the slightest interest in the cost of whatever decision she made. Thats good. It would not want to be in a long term care facility without a directive specifying my wishes. Again, thats your right to specify your wishes. Perhaps you would like a prolonged death on a ventilator and tube feed but its not for me. Since you want to go this route, perhaps you should keep a cyanide pill handy just in case some hellish doctor wants to make you suffer.
