The SEC has no jurisdiction over anything outside the business of securities, that's why it's called the Securities and Exchange Commission... although I agree with the spirit of your question, the SEC should be very closely scrutinized and investigated, and ultimately have individuals within the SEC charged and prosecuted to the max along with madoff for not looking into madoff when they were warned many times over the years about his ongoing scam... you can't always diminish a complain as "anecdotal" or just a complaint from "some disgruntled employee," incidents like this go ignored you years and now everyone is paying for that tragic neglect, many people lost all their life savings because of the continued neglect of the SEC which ultimately allowed madoff to continue his horrific con game... an investigation into the SEC's inattention to this issue can be done easily, but you can ask obama and his croneys why they don't do it... they're all in bed together and they lie opening to get what they want, no private citizen, including yourself, should swallow whole ANYTHING they tell us... waters and her gangster friends like fwank, dodd, clinton, dodd, and some other should also be investigated regarding the fannie and freddie cover up... obama himself used strong arm criminal tactics to force banks to grant high risk loan under the threat of losing their banking charter under the guise of the Senate Banking Committee if they didn't comply... ask obama why he did that... he now has the balls to say he saved the economy when he was principal in causing the banking problem in the first place...
