ElM, while you goof around climbing up poles and into ditches, Globalstar is flying over Africa 1414km high, beaming CDMA across the continent.

There's a lack of gateways at present due to the financial collapse in the early 21st century of Globalstar and the corruption and kleptocracy of Africa. There was one built in South Africa, but never used. There is one finally being built in Nigeria. But more are needed.

Once the new constellation is up and running in a year or so, there will be greater interest in building gateways in Africa.

With half a dozen, the whole place could be covered while you are still trying to string fibre around Angola. Both are needed.

Africa and India are the two big areas remaining uncovered: globalstar.com

Brazil is completely covered.
