RE: She was recently asked, on a local talk show, about the people who were hurt by her advice. She said the people were not hurt because she did not tell them to short the market.

So much for owning up to one's mistakes! Maybe this is what she should say the next time -- "Yes, I told them to sell. But I said that with a wink, so people should have actually done the opposite of what I said..." :-)
