If the guy is lawfully in his own house?

You bet. I feel free to abuse anyone I want to in my house. It may not be the most diplomatic way to entertain visitors, and it may cause some of the authority challenged to screw with you, but yeah- I think a person's home is their castle, and unless you are breaking a specific law (and not the "you ought to be nice to the police in case they are mental, law), you should be able to say whatever you want to in your home.

If you come over to my house you'll see I totally mean that...

I'm pretty libertarian about people in their own homes.
