he inherited a hornet's nest which required facile and agile leadership and out of the box thinking that I was hoping he would display in office

What made you think that a freshman Senator with no executive experience whatsoever and the most liberal voting record in the Senate would provide "facile and agile leadership"?

Obama certainly didn't cause this financial train wreck

Obama voted as a Senator in favor of every economic package that increased government indebtedness and irresposnsible government management, to state that he inherited this “train wreck” and wasn't part of the problem, is disingenuous at best.

Hey Harry - it is always possible to make a bad situation worse - which is exactly what Obama has done.

MadHarry...Stick around for awhile. You will find many articles from all sorts of sources that describe much of what has happened in the last several years that caused this mess. Unfortunately, whatever Obama has done is make the financial, and other matters, MUCH more out of control and dangerous....

I have Advanced search, and can find quite a few early warnings....Including the UTube pleadings from GWB in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 to the Congress to reign in Fannie Mae, and Freddy Mac...Just for starters. And we can also see on UTube many many items where Barney Frank (as recently as April 2008) and Chris Dodd said there was NO problem with FM and FM....In fact, they and the Congress continued to insist the banks loan more and more funds to those who those who couldn't afford to repay back any loan...

And THAT's just the housing problem that tipped this....Obama has done quite a bit of stimulus (and not spending it), bank bailouts (and they aren't loaning), take overs of the Automobile GM and Chrysler, take over of AIG, setting up Czars with them reporting to him (the President) and NOT Congress as is in the Constitution, the Porkulus bill, and now trying to take over the Health Care for the US by setting up Nationalized care.

Here's just 3 links of MANY that might be of interest...I did check, and you seem to be very interested in the economy.
