I'm hoping we legalize drugs and clear out the prisons, so we can spend the money on something a little more healthy- like education and health. As much as I agree with you, I fear you're at least twenty five years premature.

every idiot who voted from more largesse, but voted "no" on tax cuts, will now suffer some pain when these cuts roll down to them That did seem to me to be the root of it. If you want more spending then you have to pay more taxes, or not... but never both, not in the long run. Relying so heavily on a pro-cyclical tax (land/housing) also seems unwise to me. I do hope that other than bigger classes you don't have to suffer...
