Let me respond to one of your stupid questions...this one:

If George W. Bush had stated that Emperor Hirohito was present on the deck of the USS Missouri to sign Japan’s surrender would you have just said he got his “facts” wrong?

GW Bush definitely would not who Emperor Hirohito was......which country he lead and when; likely would not know the USS Missouri was a ship during WW II and probably doesn't know that Japan was one of the Axis powers during WW II. Not until GW Bush was president had he ever been outside the country.
