To be honest, I myself don't have enough understanding of the proposal in detail to be able to make an intelligent assessment of whether or not it has a reasonable chance to meet its goals. I made my assessment based on instinctive feel for how easy it easy for these big grandiose programs to fail (Eg. War on Poverty). I don't expect Social Security, Medicare to "Collapse", but I do believe, as you probably do, that they will have to be cut back to meet the fiscal realities unless new sources of revenue unexpectedly turn up.
