I approached someone, who I believe is well informed about banks and their activities, for an opinion regarding the contents of post #997 below, "Bank's Last Hurrah".

Here's the reply ...

"Long on rhetoric and short on numbers. What is Morgan Stanley(MS) and Goldman Sachs(GS) exposure to commercial Real Estate ?
The article mixes both MS and GS with standard banks which I think shows a lack of precision.
Both do not have any exposure to the consumer since they are Investment Managers & Bankers, traders and speculators for their own benefit."

I find that article extremely troubling. After trillions in bailouts, nobody seems to have learned lesson one.
