I have heard beer brewers say it is actually hard to brew a light lager like Bud in volume and maintain quality. I find that sometimes Bud is quite good for a light beer with a lot of rice, and other times bitter. My favorite all round beer is Samuel Adams Boston Lager. I also like Guiness, especially that new Guiness 250. However, I am no beer snob.

I don't drink beer as a rule, but I really like a Birra Moretti when it's hot. I went to a party where they were serving a home made gumbo last October. As fortune would have it, the host had just returned from Belgium and brought back a local Trappist beer. He offered me one, so I drank it while enjoying the gumbo. It was wonderful and gives me reason to visit that country if I ever get the chance.

Hubby is a beer snob, and he likes Red Hook IPA.
