He came representing a research based report which had a direct reference to Cap and Trade. Boxer went off on black support, taking the NAACP comments which weren't even about the bill, for her bill in an attempt to claim he didn't have validity. He is also a representative of the Black Chamber of Commerce, not all black people and he seemed to have declared that. She made several goofs, among which, many of Alford's group members are members of the NAACP or the 100CEOs and it is irrelevant. She included the name of one of her supporters who had actually helped to prepare Alford's presentation." Boxer cited the NAACP to say that, no, actually he didn't. How is that racist? It was racist because 1) your premise is an invention after the fact which is blatantly false, 2) She did it for the reasons already covered, to invalidate him personally as having the right to challenge her bill, she tried the residence thing first but failed so moved on to this racial stuff, 3)She did it for the reasons she gave, she was trying to gain support for her bill and he was not playing along as black folks ,according to her, are obliged to. Educate yourself: The facts as they are right now are 2 1) Alford has a well researched report that challenges the basis of the bill. He is not against clean energy, environmentalism, or jobs creation and his interests are nonpartisan. 2) Boxer responded to that with an attempt at condescending racial intimidation, to reign him into the Dem agenda. She goes on and on about the NAACP (which doesn't even support her resolution) and quotes some leader of 100 black CEOs. "I take offense to that... quoting some other black man, ... Why are speaking on behalf of the black community? Why are you doing the colored people association studys and quoting black people? ... don't quote to me what other black people think, what does that matter?? All that is condescending and racial. Madam chairman this has nothing to do with the NAACP. We've been looking at energy policy since 1996. We are referring to experts regardless of their color and for someone to tell me an African American College educated Veteran of the United States Army that I must contend with some other black group and put aside everything else ... God Awful
