"Would it be to you?" I asked you because it is your declarations that are the foundation of this strand of discussion. If you can no longer stand behind them under this kind of scrutiny, just say so and you are off the hook. Stability, if that is your primary criteria, is easily obtainable as a term of surrender. My position on the Taliban is irrelevant except as a personal opinion. I am against tyranny and think free people have some obligations to those who are oppressed under a tyranny, especially a brutal tyranny but in general terms also, whether the tyranny is brutal or not. I also think we have an obligation to thwart any threat posed against ourselves. If someone can convince me that the Taliban form of government is not tyrannical, and that the Taliban government would not target or support targeting the USA with strikes, then I would say, 'to each his own' ... otherwise it would not be ok with me.
