Politicians take millions from lobbyists to get elected. The dems have tried to get public financing of campaigns for years and the Republicans always block it. When you take millions from corporations and lobbyists you have to do what they say or they will skin you alive. The left tries to take as little as possible but the right wing guys like Tom Delay bathe in lobbyists money. The people do not seem to be able to figure this out. Only public financing of campaigns will solve the problem of lobbying pressure. People should vote for dems jsut to get public financing of campaigns. People do not seem to know what is in their own best interest. Sort of like the Germans who went along with Hitler. Or the fools who voted for Nixon over MacGovern.
