The elderly are beginning to understand this. That is why by a large margin they are resisting it. Despite what AARP says.

They won't be honest about the euthanasia thing. Words like death with dignity, reducing suffering, will be used.

Studies show 1/4 of Dutch doctors have killed patients without their consent. When you encourage doctors to hurry death along, don't press to save lives, they'll take the hint and start acting on their own. People joke about doctors having god complexes already. Give them the power to end life and many will take it.

Totally agree...if the government makes private and personal things like end of life issues mandatory, we will have lost this country.

Having been hospitalized three times in the last 6 months for all sorts of different things, EACH time you are required to have a Directive - Living Will - it says that you do or don't want extraordinary care taken should you become totally incompacited...i.e. do you want a feeding tube or not....or hydration (IV or just a drink) etc...

If you already have that with the copy of your will, you have already had the discussion with your mate/family, and your attorney.

At what point can a person be terminated if he/she has Alzenheimers? Coma? AIDS? Who makes the decisions, and where do we draw the line?

Where do we draw the line between murder and government intervention to kill?
