Gretchen Nordyke followed at 2:17 p.m. and was given No. 151 – 61 – 10638, which was also filed with the Hawaii registrar Aug. 11, 1961.

According to a version of Obama's purported short-form certificate available from FactCheck.org, Obama was given a higher registration number than the Nordyke twins. The online image indicates the number is No. 151 – 1961 – 10641,

why the different 61 vs 1961 ?

CNN's President Jon Klein forced Lou Dobbs to tell a lie in his show.

the Hawaii Department of Heath affirmed that no paper birth certificate records were destroyed when the department moved to electronic record-keeping in 2001.

Most interesting! The Mom was smart to keep the original certificates....they have not only the mother and father's addresses, age, etc on them, but they note the birth place of each parent. There is a "1966" date at the bottom....wonder if that's when the paper was actually registered officially??? The folks from Hawaii seem to march to their own drummer....

If the certificate is "certified" with a certification stamp, it is used for any important record, including a passport...If it isn't certified, you can use it as a guide for genealogy purposes (it's cheaper not to get a certified copy, but this one isn't used for any public official record)
