Apparently, I am a little dense. Ding ding ding - you're a winner! Why are they attacking Obama on his birth certificate? Obviously it's political and there's also some wishful thinking the election could be over turned. Go figure - something political about an election for president. All of that however does not answer the basic questions, keeps it in the news and causes people like me to wonder why Obama would not simply hold a press conference, fire up his teleprompter and give the document to the media and say "Here you go, enjoy!" Refusing to provide the original only fuels the fire - the truth shall set you free etc. Mr. Transparency said so himself - or do you not believe him and are afraid he's hiding something?

Same reason why they criticize the way he threw the first pitch at the MLB All-Star game. Same reason why the left went after Sarah Palin and her family. This is all meaningless tabloid banter which has characterized much of the political discussion as of late. People who engage in this lunacy thrive on a sense of conflict and polarization that they help to create. That's why I don't think this is a racial issue.
