General economy stuff is going to been seen as iffy for a long time, copper is taken as an overall barometer and mostly goes into buildings and motor vehicles, neither of which is being produced in the numbers they were ... and won't be any time soon, until a good bit of the debt that financed the last flurry is worked out, and the savings rate improved for a while ... that's how i see it anyway, and truth be told the opinion is not all that humble -g- ... but debt levels got silly, private and public as well, there was an extremely low savings rate on this continent and we don't make our own gadgets and gizmos any more, we order them in from overseas on vendor finance basically ... Canada is a bit better off due to oil reserves and a few commodities that will be in demand, but that leaves us in the hewers of wood and drawers of water position, not that great and does nothing to fix a hollowed-out economy ... also nobody wants the wood any more, modern phrase should probably read 'pumpers of oil'

Will they want the copper, enough to bid it up to profitable levels? ... depends on what other supply is coming onstream, balanced against reasonable projections of demand ... i dunno, don't have the numbers on this, tend to think it's outright guesswork on the demand side, and only educated guesstimates on supply ... maybe there are people who know ... for sure there will be people who say they know, and charge you big bucks to tell you, and then be wrong

ml.to - just clicked to your reference back there to Mercator, yes top of Bob's contest at the moment ... and you with wtm.to, also doing well, you may take the cup in the end, they were good picks ... i hold no ml.to right now, let all go around 1.50 months ago, had small trades in it since ... quality outfit with a great operation, it's just copper/moly and i like gold and silver better ... tend to think of copper and oil together now, for sure i'll be tuned into them in the deep of next winter, maybe before under the right conditions
