I wonder if you or others have discovered any more re High levels of homocysteine and its affects more specifically on joint disintegration..

Good morning back atcha! Always nice to have a lurker come out of the woodwork. The only thing I really know about homocysteine is that Dr Davis does not consider it much of a marker or cause of heart disease.

Best advice I can give you is:

Research the hell out of it on the internet. You will find that if you enter those terms and follow the links, within a month you will know more about it than your Doctor does.

During this process, you should be able to discover the best center for this type of procedure. I have no doubt that two or three places in the US do hundreds of these each year and are expert at answering your specific questions about it.

Then, spend the money needed to get it done by the best place you can find. This means not getting it done in Canada. It will be worth the bucks to know you have optimized your chance of mobility.

I had no idea that homocysteine was associated with joint problems. I have high homocysteine, am 66, and my joints are just fine other than my knees, the deterioration of which is a likely function of poor skiing technique and too much racquetball, not likely from a surfeit of any amino acid.

I'm sorry I have no info for you but you have given me food for thought.
