Seems like we may have the political will to do something now... who knows in the future.

I appreciate that POV. If we don't do it now, we might not ever. But IMO doing nothing is better than many of the alternatives. "First, do no harm" should be their motto. So much damage can be done in a big package and this one is no exception. If they separate the components there's a better chance of getting it right. I'm prepared to risk delay over making things worse now.

Cost keep escalating.

The proposals on the table only worsen that. If we burn up all our energy on the subject now but end up with even higher costs, we're really stuck.

How much 'breathing room' do we have? Cost keep escalating. Seems like we may have the political will to do something now... who knows in the future.

So, let's panic and take whatever we can get.
