I thought that everyone knew of it?

(I mean... how long have the State insurance commissions been around? Since the Great Depression, or maybe even a bit before?)

I, for one, agree with you that costs might be a bit lower if insurance companies did not have to establish subsidiaries in each State that they wanted to sell into... (& did not have to seek approval from each State's insurance commissions to raise rates, change coverage offered, etc.)

But changing that long firmly established policy will be a POLITICAL FIGHT.

And... not one between the 'right' and the 'left', or anything like that... it will be between advocates of MORE federal powers and those who support keeping these powers where they are now - in the States.
