1) obama was one case.

Obama breaking a commitment on public financing is a pretty big counter case, I think. I saw no Democratic criticism of Obama for this, so I question whether his decision really mattered to many.

2) the democrats have only started getting more money than the Republcians since they assumed power. The Republican's got much mroe money when they were in power.

I'm not going to go to the trouble of comparing who got more when, but I will refer to my previous post on campaign finance (with info from the opensecrets.org site) which included data on a twenty yr period. Scanning that list one can see many of the large providers of political contributions gave big bucks to Democrats.

The large corporations will give money to both sides as they do not care who wins they just want to control them.

Indeed large corporations do give money to both sides. I think part of the reason is they fear having the power of the state targeted against them if they don't pay off. Its like the political class is shaking down our industries. I think most industries give because they fear what will happen if they don't. Just like shop owners paying off gangsters - if there are two gangs in an area, better pay them both off.

Everyone knows the dems have been trying to get public financing of campaigns for 40 years. Except you I guess.

We HAVE public financing now.

Over the last 40 years, there've several periods of Democratic control of both the WH and Congress. Nothing stopping them from doing what they want if they want to make further changes to public financing of campaigns.

Here is why a lot of liberals will not debate you. I said the democrats favored public financing of campaigns and then you distort the facts. ...YOu have to distort things becasue you cannot face the truth.

I'm not distorting anything. Just pointing out facts that are contrary to what you want to believe. A lot of liberals won't debate me or anyone else.

That Bruno was tried and executed for heresy, for example, is a fact. The charges against him at his trial are known.

That Copernicus wasn't persecuted for anything is also a fact. So when I pointed out your claim that the church wanted to kill him was wrong, I wasn't distorting anything, I was correcting a mistake.

Most of the things you think are distortions, I think are corrections and clarifications.
