exactly, in 1920, the depression was actually worse than in 1929, but because little was done, the recovery was swift. on the other hand the depression of 1929 which was not as bad, was exacerbated through government intervention. this is why many believe little is written in textbooks or history about the 1920 depression because it contradicts much of "conventional economic theory", and is contrary to typical government policies and intervention.
