I'm assuming that they're playing because they believe that something will get passed, which is likely given Obama's momentum, so they'd better get in there and try to make the most of the situation. If they thought it likely that nothing would be passed, they would not be playing. That and I'm sure the drug companies and the AMA are not unhappy about adding 30+ million insured customers. Can't hurt business. I'm somewhat surprised that they are not using that in the support ads... "Endorsed by the American Medical Association and the Major Drug companies" would have an impact on the average Joe... never even heard Obama mention it.
