So I don't see what the 'big deal' is about the old form. The new form (public now) contains a sub-set of the old form's data. (Contains such stuff as his full name "Barack Hussein Obama II," lists his father's race as "African" and his mother's as "Caucasian," and lists both parent's names, it contains no information about religion, and it reports his birthplace as being Honolulu, Hawaii, and the time and date --- August 4, 1961, 7:24 PM.) So: that much at least is guaranteed by the State. Appears about the *only* things that were on the old-style forms (that Hawaii no longer issues) compared to what is on the modern issue forms is such trivia as the doctor's and nurses' names (likely not included any more on the State's modern birth certificates out of privacy concerns... they have a very strict data privacy law now that applies to personal information... a good thing as far as I'm concerned.) No doubt "birthers" will continue to claim the official certificate is a fake, or that the long form is still "missing" when in fact the state of Hawaii no longer issues the long form for anyone. Ever. The short form is the officially recognized document accepted by the State Department as verified proof of United States citizenship, and by the Courts. High Res. photo:factcheck.org Interesting to see that the purported "Kenya birth certificate" has been exposed as a Web joke though: Meanwhile, an image of an apparently fraudulent Kenyan certificate of birth circulated on the Web today from an unknown source. It alleged Obama was born in Mombasa. But a contributor at FreeRepublic.com debunked it, declaring "Busted!" He pointed out that the background text, in Dutch, explained, in a rough translation, "This is not a government document. This is political commentary." <GGG>
