Can you, in a couple sentences, tell us what he did to "save us"? We know it isn't the "stimulus" because it hasn't been spent yet. So that's not it.

Was it taking over the auto industry? YOu think that did it?

I think they don't really believe how close to total seizure the international financial system got, or the horrors that would have sprung from it. But then, they've never been a group that thinks things through.
