I've used them for years (first as PCFN then DLJDirect) and have been satisfied with their on-line, tradephone and 'real-live' order takers.
Trades (market orders) go through quickely (several minutes from send to trade confirm email or update on order status page). They are market maker for many NASDQ issues (at least most of the ones I trade) and 'market' trades execute almost instantly. 'Limit' orders execute quickly and I've received 'better price' adjustments on many orders.
More importantly, they have a stand-alone windows program that uses the TCPIP stack to communicate with their system (no browser) that seems to connect when the website is jammed or slow. It is free to download, and you can try it out without even opening an account. You find it on their homepage. DLJDirect for Windows.
