Obama has already increased the budget by 16% over Bush. Universal health care will add another 6%. Social Security is also going to grow by leaps and bounds as the Baby Boomers retire.

There is no going back to Bush or even Clinton. There's only the future where government spending represents the largest percentage of the GDP since WWII.

I've always argued that over the past several decades, we've become good at transferring bubbles. Big government represents the final bubble, and the future is going to be squandered trying to ensure that bubble never bursts.
