"There is no evidence that EVEN ONE JOB was saved with this program. Not one. So, maybe a few were."

You're so consistent!

Cash for Clunkers does several things. It reduces our oil needs. It reduces pollution. It makes our roads safer. It provides some jobs and helps our automakers.

You know how the used car business works. I'm about to buy a car, the salesman needs to close the deal, he says, "Hey, you could save $4,500 if you bring in a clunker. Go get a $300 clunker, you're in business".

You have to have owned the insured vehicle for a year... and prove it. When I heard the money had run out my first thought was that the dealers were scamming... asked my buddy and he said no the deal was air tight, no loopholes.

Hmm ... tastes like recession

Wall Street was buoyed by the GDP report. But consumers still aren't spending. And until they do, investors may have to be wary of the recovery talk.

[excerpt]

"As we suspected, things got a lot less bad in terms of economic activity. It means we turned a corner earlier this year in terms of the severity of the recession," he said. "The free market correction is abating quickly."

Achuthan said the recession turned into "an abyss" last fall as the credit market froze. But trillions of dollars in government programs to ease credit have largely succeeded, which helped normal business cycle dynamics take over.

"The vicious cycle is become virtuous," he said. "Confidence is returning, pent-up demand is creating higher prices, and the economy is getting stronger."

Don't you tire of being wrong all the time?

There is no evidence that EVEN ONE JOB was saved with this program. Not one. So, maybe a few were. Was it worth a billion or more? Hell, no.

Yeah...the cars manufacture themselves...just like the LEDs...you are a caricature of a negative, say NO, disagree at all costs, no ideas, do nothing GOPer.
