Which, being a bit of a Machiavellian myself about politics, I suspect that there may be) From another post: They (political operatives) are probably ENJOYING tweaking and working-up the wingnuts, now that this opportunity to do so has been presented to them by the gods. <g> It's a winning political strategy, if that is actually what it is. If you can tar a larger, principled opposition with the exact same 'loony paint' that is covering the conspiracy nuts, then the public backs away from them all. Very, very 'Rovian' in design. (The ole master is probably proud. ;-)
