Roly,

" Greenspan also warned that a slowdown in Asia -- a growing market for American goods -- would hurt American exports, with a "not negligible" effect on the U.S. expansion."

Alan Greenspan could help our exports by not letting the dollar appreciate further against the currencies of countries where there is a growing market for American goods. At the same time, he will slow down the relocation of manufacturing facilities of American companies to countries that have cheaper labor...But, then, Alan wants us not to work hard so us not have money to spend more. If he sees scores of American people out of work, maybe he will think also of the feelings of the jobless poor.
