Prometheus, Hollywood was enlisted in WWII. Thus the perception that William Holden won WWII.

WWII would not had been won had not the Russians destroyed the oil fields of Baku denying the Germans a source of crude.

US had a industrial mighty, unmatched by the Germans. An old German ex-soldier said to me: "The British fought really well. Almost like the Germans."

How about the Armericans? I asked. He said the US had only lots and lots of materiel.
