you do not get the brightest, most qualified if the reward is not in front of them. some will still go into medical field but others will evaluate the investment vs payout and change fields.

why do people come from all over the world to top surgeon in states.. Perhaps that person through market demand makes millions , millions,, but if restricted up front on potential earnings would have selected another field. Perhaps many innovations in new surgery tech would never have been discovered.

you really do not believe the top and brightest go into medical field because they want to save the world.. i expect that is the exception.
