GD, SOL. Volume covers a variety of incompetence and flat-out stealing at these fly-by-night firms. All a broker says he will do is best effort. Now he is saying his best wasn't so hot. MB

Hi glen, >>I put in an order at Lombard to sell stock(I watched my bid on the stock remain for 10 minutes after the order). They said the order didn't make it to their system until 45 minutes later.Meanwhile, the bid dropped and I didn't get filled. They claim it's because of traffic.Do I have grounds to push them to fill my order or am I sol due to volume?

FYI, Merrill Lynch is going through all the tapes for the last 2 days to insure the clients have received fair prices at the time the order was placed. I don't know if this is a legal requirement or not.
